service offerings, and adding ’slack adjusters’ to
any landscaping or lawn care company.

This is might sound completely crazy…

In fact, I’d probably never put such an inflated
price tag on a single sheet of paper but after
checking this out I’ve changed my tune.

Hot Sheeter #4: Books, Tools & Resources
You Need to Check Out

I’m now reading a biography on Andrew Carnegie.
It’s thick so I’m dragging along with it.
But it is fascinating to read about how this immigrant
came to our country with just about nothing and became
one of the richest business tycoons in history.

(I have a local friend who has done the same. I’d
guess he’s worth around $85 Million, but claims that
he cannot afford the Ferrari he has wanted for 30
years until he has $100 Million in the bank!)

And that’s no joke!!!
LAST BUT NOT LEAST….

If you are a lawn maintenance contractor and are not

I learned the hardway, but after finally being convinced

10 Critical Tips For Landscaping and Lawn Care Business Success

Work smarter, not harder. It’s not how much you do as a landscaping or lawncare operator, but what you do and how well you do it. There are better ways to run your business than by brute force.

Strive for accuracy first, and then build momentum. Since you do not have a second chance to make a good impression, it is important that you always do things right the first time. It is much better to introduce an excellent lawn care service a little later than planned than to i release something that you know has problems.

Build your reputation on integrity, quality and value. Don’t do anything that might compromise it. Once your reputation is tarnished, it is difficult to redeem yourself in the eyes of your clients.

Always better you’re best. Constantly strive to improve your landscape and lawn care services…

Be creative.
Adapt and apply innovative techniques from outside the landscaping or lawn care industry – look to other industries and apply good ideas in your industry.

Listen and react to your Client’s needs. Landscaping and lawn care is a service – therefore you should focus on great customer service. Success comes when you give your clients what they want. Visit them and ask them what you can do to improve your lawn care service. Sell solutions, not services.

Plan for Success.
Know where you are going and how you are going to get there. Too many landscape and lawn care businesses exist day-to-day without any long-range plans or goals. Decide where you want your company to be in one, three and five years and draw up a plan of action to get you there.

Take advantage of change.
Changes in your market are inevitable -­use them to your advantage. Be a leader, not a follower. It is far better to err on the side of daring than to err on the side of inaction or complacency.

Think before you act.
There is nothing so useless as doing efficiently that which should not be done at all.

Always promise a lot … and then deliver even more. Try to provide your clients with more than they expect. Go the extra mile to give exceptional lawn care service and quality. Your clients will remember and reward you with their continued business.

“Tweeting” Landscape and Lawn Care Pros

Today, after a long time of procratinating to do this I finally set up a Tweeter account and it’s pretty neat how it works. What I was suprised to find is that I couldn’t really locate a whole lot of lawn care business owners or landscapers to “follow”.

My thoughts are that Tweeter is a great place to create a community to share lawn care marketing tips and landscaping business ideas in general.

I did however find some really neat and helpful people and lawn care and landscape related business sites that were very help full.  Again, a great way to share what’s working as far as getting new lawn care business or how to save money and operate your landscaping business more efficiently.
